Gamma Location Intelligence, the leading provider of underwriter address-level risk assessment and reporting solutions, is delighted to host GeoInsurance Webinar Series 2021

The first webinar takes place on Thursday, 25 November @ 10:00 a.m., during which speakers will address Climate Risk, Regulatory Changes and New Data that will impact the island of Ireland.

Alongside Gamma’s Richard Cantwell and Richard Garry will be representatives from the University College of Cork (James Fitton) and First Derivative (Johnny Mattimore) examining the impacts that change – in terms of climate and regulations – will have on property and the Insurance and Banking sectors.

Our knowledge of climate change is evolving all the time.

In light of the COP26 (Conference of the Parties) conference in Glasgow, we will provide an update on climate change, what it means for the Insurance and Banking sectors and what data is available now to help understand what the potential impact might be.

These sectors face many difficulties, including how best to access the right data at the right time, so that underwriters and lenders may make informed decisions quickly. Gamma is helping businesses to reduce their climate change risk exposure and assess future claims – part of the session will overview how we are assisting and enabling businesses to make decisions efficiently.

We will also look at the recent release of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) climate assessments that support adaptation and mitigation action in relation to climate change. Dr James Fitton, one of Europe’s leading experts on climate change, will present the latest global climate projections and will describe possible local effects across Ireland and within the British Isles.

Richard Cantwell, Principal Consultant at Gamma, will give an overview of the data landscape for assessing the impacts of climate change and other perils at the individual property level across the Island of Ireland.

Finally, Johnny Mattimore, First Derivative, will talk about the new regulatory situation and standards emerging in the insurance and banking sectors in relation to climate change and their application to global asset risk assessment.

We believe the sessions will be informative, educational and thought-provoking.

So please join us.

Climate change is a problem that is happening now. We are all part of the solution.
